For three years running a lantern procession and festival took place along the Ripley Greenway on National Tree Dressing Day in December, with lantern making, costume and buggy decorating workshops held locally prior to the event. The festivals were a great success, attracting approximately 200 people in the final two years. The pyrotechnic fire dancers, Mr. Fox, led the 2005 and 2006 processions and created a performance piece for the festival finale. In 2006 the event and final performance from Mr. Fox ended at the Lumb Farm Inn with crisps and hot chocolate for all.
